Mr. Van Steen co-founded Life Science Group (LSG) in 1997, a boutique investment banking firm focused exclusively on the life science industry. Rich also co-founded Life Science Pharmaceuticals (LSP) in 2006 and Extended Delivery Pharmaceuticals LLC (EDP) in 2009. He presently serves as Vice President, Director of Business Development of EDP and LSP and is a member of the LSP and EDP Board of Directors.
Rich has been a principal in finance and business-development for innovative companies in the life sciences since 1993. As a Founder, Managing Principal and Board member of LSG, he co-managed M&A, partnering, advisory and private equity placements for the firm. During his career, he has established and maintains extensive relationships throughout the health-care venture capital community. At LSG, Rich has participated in well over $1 billion in life science related transactions.
Mr. Van Steen maintains an active interest in community affairs and helped establish Bio- Florida, the state affiliate of the Biotechnology Industry Organization. He received his BA in Business from Pace University.
